JIRIS USA has made important strides in several front and has been in very critical juncture for its US operations since January of 2006.
First of all, JIRIS USA was selected, after exhaustive testings of one of JIRIS product line, as the iris biometric platform supplier for NAVSEA program led by SwRI as the prime contractor for US Navy's TBCMS (Tactical Biometric Collection and Matching System). We just comleted a week-long final integration and testing of 12 fielding units in late July at SwRI site in Texas. Those units will be deployed and field-tested at the US operational theater in the Middle East. Furthermore, the customer expressed the preference in other specific JIRIS model which would be better-suited to the US soldiers under harms-way in the ground. Concurrent to the fielding efforts, JIRIS USA is engaging an extensive technical investigation with SwRI to meet and satisfy the customer's desire and need. |

Jiris Co., Ltd., a company based in Korea, has presented a new iris recognition algorithm, which differs from the algorithm patented by L1 Identity Solutions.
They offer a range of cameras and an SDK that allow the creation of iris based solutions. Using a modified low cost web cam with a two way mirror, covering the lens, individuals can quickly centre there eye and capture is nearly instantaneous from several inches away.
This is the first iris recognition solution that works outdoors using the natural IR present in sunlight.

JIRIS USA product was also selected for the similar effort run by the Marine Corp. since January of 2007. Currently, Sol Logics and Catcher Inc. are integrating one of our product line into the Marine Corp's version of TBCMS for fielding units as we speak. Due to the difference in the requirement from Marine Corp., we are also customizing our selected product line. |
